Portillo,
Chile - Summer Ski Trip
August and/or September
"When I was a professional
skier, I went to South America every year to ski.
As you may know, South America has a reverse winter
season from North America and August in Chile is
comparable to the month of February in the U.S.
During the summer, Portillo experiences record snowfalls,
and it has inspired us to host a powder ski outing
in the summer."
We depart from
North America or Europe arriving in Santiago, Chile
in the morning. The remainder of the day will be reserved
for optional sightseeing, shopping or resting followed
by an authentic Chilean dinner that evening. Lodging
reservations have been made at the Hyatt Santiago.
An 18th Century winery tour has been scheduled followed
by lunch. That afternoon, the group will travel to
Portillo for a week of fantastic skiing to include
a private race and one day of heli-skiing hosted by
champion skiers. Plan to enjoy the South American
culture, wonderful cuisine, an internationally renowned
resort, incredible skiing terrain and great après
skiing fun!
The outing may be
scheduled August or September. It may be co-hosted
by World Cup Champion and former owner of Kiehl's
Cosmetics, Klaus Heidegger, and Franz Weber, Olympian
and six-time, consecutive World Speed Skiing Champion.
The trip is planned for 18 participants (excluding
the two hosts).
This package includes:
hotel accommodations for 8 nights (private rooms with
lake view in Portillo), all meals (4 per day) all
